THE BENJAMIN MARCUS HOMES TEAM

Benjamin Marcus Homes Team Photo

While the houses and happy customers are the result of our work, the real blueprint of success within Benjamin Marcus Homes comes from our team. Our staff is comprised of creative, energetic and character-driven individuals who work tirelessly to ensure that you are involved throughout every step of the building process, so that you fall in love with the home we’ve built together.

As a family-owned and operated business, family values are at the core of everything we do at Benjamin Marcus Homes. Because of this, we treat each and every one of our customers like family. Additionally, we take the art of building dream homes very seriously, but often with a lighthearted approach.  Please take a moment to “meet” each of our team members and learn about what makes them tick.

THE TEAM

Mark Hoskins

MARK HOSKINS
Founder/President

Mark Hoskins started his career as a Master Home Builder in 1979 with one simple goal. That goal was to provide a custom building experience and superior homes while making customers' dreams a reality.

Now, with almost four decades of experience designing and building luxurious homes and estates, Mark (and BMH) continues pioneering in the custom home building sector. Therefore, he is recognized in the upper echelon of builders in the Pittsburgh Real Estate Market. Mr. Hoskins still spends more than half of his days on-site to ensure the homes get built to BMH standards.

Mark believes that his customers should be involved in the process from beginning to end. In today’s world of cookie-cutter, recycled architecture and corner-cutting “custom home building,” BMH strives to build unique and distinguishable houses with customized floor plans that become beautiful new homes.

It’s the level of attention and care put into each home that has allowed him to be twice recognized by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Additionally, he earned the Residential Development of the Year Award and was recognized three times for a best-in-class award for home building and design.

Marks favorite pastimes are spending time with his wife Liz and hitting some great tapas spots. Mark is also learning to speak some Spanish with his wife’s family. He also loves spending time with his three grandkids.

Barrett Hoskins

BARRETT HOSKINS
Vice President

Barrett has been around the family business since birth but started officially working circa 2001. It was the first day of summer after finishing 7th grade...Barrett had grand dreams of a fun summer with his friends. However, there aren’t any child labor laws with a family-owned business, so Mark had other plans. The young dreamer was sprayed with water at 6:30 AM while sleeping and dragged out of bed to join the workforce. As they say, "The rest is history.” He continued to work seasonally throughout high school and became full time while commuting to Robert Morris University, where he graduated with honors from the business school. Barrett recently married his wife, Jess, in 2018 and spends his free time homebrewing and loves all things MOPAR.

Katrina Fornear

KATRINA
Director of Operations

Katrina didn’t know she was on the journey to becoming the Director of Operations when she was in middle school learning how to run a blueprint machine and collate floorplans, watching her parents meet with customers and design their dream homes.  Now, years later, Katrina oversees the BMH Design Gallery and the terrific, hardworking staff of the Operations Department.  She enjoys being a part of the full life cycle of the construction project, and seeing the joy on customers' faces when they walk into their completed home!  In her free time, Katrina loves spending time with her husband and children.

Kelsey Osbourne

KELSEY
Contracts Administrator

Kelsey is a full-time mom by day and part-time nurse by night. She graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.  Kelsey got sucked into the family business to help and stayed because she missed getting scolded by her father (Mark). Some might call her Head of the Party Planning Committee, but she’s here for more than just a good time. Additionally, she has two crazy boys with Project Manager and husband, Alec. Her favorite past times as a ‘boy mom’ include singing, "Baa Baa Black Sheep," reading "Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site," and drinking cold coffee that has been reheated at least six times.

Executive Assistant

Kristina was born and raised in Pittsburgh, a true Yinzer. She graduated from Duquesne University in 2016 with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. After substitute teaching for a few months, she realized her passion wasn’t just in helping children, but rather in helping people in general. After working with college students, young professionals and business executives while planning programs and events for three years at the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber of Commerce, Kristina decided to start a new career path. She joined the BMH team in May of 2019, excited to learn about custom home building while helping the Operations team.

Kristina loves spending her free time with her husband, Brian, and their little Bichon Frise, Ellie.  She also tags herself as a foodie, as she loves trying out new restaurants in the area. Kristina is an avid sports fan, enjoys going to the gym and loves living in the City of Champions.

Alec Osbourne

ALEC
Project Manager - South

Alec grew up in Hickory, PA where he became an avid outdoorsman and archer at a young age. He attended Fort Cherry High School and earned a BA in Criminal Justice from Thiel College in 2009. Alec crammed about 12 years of man-hours into a seven-year stint in the oilfield. Finally, after marrying Kelsey Hoskins and having their first amazing son, he decided 100+ hour work weeks just weren't worth it. Therefore, he accepted the position of Project Manager at BMH in June of 2017.

After that, he and Kelsey welcomed another perfect, fun-loving son into their lives. When Alec isn't on the job site, he spends most of his time as a human jungle gym for his sons. The rare times Alec isn't being body-slammed by his two-year-old or slobbered on by his one-year-old, you can find him feeding his hobbies. They include woodworking, archery, long-range rifles or any other outdoor activity.

AUSTIN
Construction Manager

Austin was born and raised in Reserve Township in Pittsburgh, PA. He worked at a granite and cabinet shop as their lead installer/shop foreman for 7 years where he learned the intricacies of kitchen and bathroom renovation; specializing in countertops, backsplashes, and cabinet measurements and installation.

Although this is his first job in the industry, home building is in his blood. Austin's grandfather built custom homes for 53 years and Austin can remember being on job sites and walkthroughs with his grandfather from the time he was 7 years old.

During high school, after taking several years of woodshop and cabinetry classes, Austin became infatuated with the trade and hobby of woodworking. He has continued this interest to this day, setting up his own woodshop in his garage where he makes his best attempts at making furniture and gifts for friends and family.

When he's not working hard for BMH customers, Austin enjoys spending time with and annoying his girlfriend, spending time with my family, fiddling in his woodshop, and spending too much money on power tools.

Erin is no stranger to the construction industry. She was born to a 3rd generation carpenter and spent many of her younger years on her father's Job Sites.
