THE BENJAMIN MARCUS HOMES TEAM
While the houses and happy customers are the result of our work, the real blueprint of success within Benjamin Marcus Homes comes from our team. Our staff is comprised of creative, energetic and character-driven individuals who work tirelessly to ensure that you are involved throughout every step of the building process, so that you fall in love with the home we’ve built together.
As a family-owned and operated business, family values are at the core of everything we do at Benjamin Marcus Homes. Because of this, we treat each and every one of our customers like family. Additionally, we take the art of building dream homes very seriously, but often with a lighthearted approach. Please take a moment to “meet” each of our team members and learn about what makes them tick.
Mark Hoskins started his career as a Master Home Builder in 1979 with one simple goal. That goal was to provide a custom building experience and superior homes while making customers' dreams a reality.
Now, with almost four decades of experience designing and building luxurious homes and estates, Mark (and BMH) continues pioneering in the custom home building sector. Therefore, he is recognized in the upper echelon of builders in the Pittsburgh Real Estate Market. Mr. Hoskins still spends more than half of his days on-site to ensure the homes get built to BMH standards.
Mark believes that his customers should be involved in the process from beginning to end. In today’s world of cookie-cutter, recycled architecture and corner-cutting “custom home building,” BMH strives to build unique and distinguishable houses with customized floor plans that become beautiful new homes.
It’s the level of attention and care put into each home that has allowed him to be twice recognized by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Additionally, he earned the Residential Development of the Year Award and was recognized three times for a best-in-class award for home building and design.
Marks favorite pastimes are spending time with his wife Liz and hitting some great tapas spots. Mark is also learning to speak some Spanish with his wife’s family. He also loves spending time with his three grandkids.
Barrett has been around the family business since birth but started officially working circa 2001. It was the first day of summer after finishing 7th grade...Barrett had grand dreams of a fun summer with his friends. However, there aren’t any child labor laws with a family-owned business, so Mark had other plans. The young dreamer was sprayed with water at 6:30 AM while sleeping and dragged out of bed to join the workforce. As they say, "The rest is history.” He continued to work seasonally throughout high school and became full time while commuting to Robert Morris University, where he graduated with honors from the business school. Barrett recently married his wife, Jess, in 2018 and spends his free time homebrewing and loves all things MOPAR.
Director of Operations
Katrina didn’t know she was on the journey to becoming the Director of Operations when she was in middle school learning how to run a blueprint machine and collate floorplans, while all of her friends were at the pool eating ice cream sandwiches and getting a tan. Watching her parents meet with customers and design their homes, she learned how to channel creativity, talk to clients about their house aspirations, and try to turn those dreams into reality – a goal that the team at BMH strives to accomplish.
Katrina graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s Degree in Government and Politics, and a concentration in Counter-terrorism. She spent several years working in Emergency Management in DC while taking many weekend trips to Pittsburgh to help decorate houses. The time came when she could no longer deny the offer from her dad and brother to join the family business and assist customers in the selection process (it’s in her blood!). Her role has continued to grow. Katrina now oversees the BMH Design Gallery and the terrific, hardworking staff of the Operations Department.
In addition to running, she loves watching 'The Office' re-runs with her husband and super-dad, Shawn. She's also counting down until their daughter is old enough that they can take her to the most magical place on earth – Disney World! She approves of listening to Christmas music in July, firmly believes 'Die Hard' is a Christmas movie, looks forward to days when she can use Snow Mode in her Jeep and is always rocking a pair of aviators wherever she goes.
Kelsey is a full-time mom by day and part-time nurse by night. She graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Kelsey got sucked into the family business to help and stayed because she missed getting scolded by her father (Mark). Some might call her Head of the Party Planning Committee, but she’s here for more than just a good time. Additionally, she has two crazy boys with Project Manager and husband, Alec. Her favorite past times as a ‘boy mom’ include singing, "Baa Baa Black Sheep," reading "Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site," and drinking cold coffee that has been reheated at least six times.
Ashley joined the BMH team in July 2017 following ten years in the banking industry and earning her Master's Degree in Business Administration. She is the mom of a 10-year-old fun, loving, sasstastic daughter, Payton, and a puppy named Sydney. She enjoys long walks down the grocery store aisle and through Target. Ashley might be slightly over dramatic. For instance, she handles a small cut as if her limbs are falling off. Her favorite phrase is, “Living the dream… just someone else’s.” She doesn’t mean to, but she throws shade like the confetti with her “resting 'mean' face.” Above all, she gets through life living one day at a time with a sweet treat in her hand and a coffee close by.
Kayla grew up in Altoona, PA and moved to Pittsburgh in 2009 to attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She graduated in 2012 with a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design and has been in the design industry ever since. She joined the BMH team in March of 2019 as their Design Coordinator, excited to grow in her career and learn more about new construction home building. She is also excited to help clients design their dream homes.
She loves spending her free time with her boyfriend and their two dogs. She also loves to bake (and claims to make the best blueberry pancake cookies you will ever taste). She believes every day is a great day to jam out to some Britney Spears, eat pizza and watch Gilmore Girls.

Alec grew up in Hickory, PA where he became an avid outdoorsman and archer at a young age. He attended Fort Cherry High School and earned a BA in Criminal Justice from Thiel College in 2009. Alec crammed about 12 years of man-hours into a seven-year stint in the oilfield. Finally, after marrying Kelsey Hoskins and having their first amazing son, he decided 100+ hour work weeks just weren't worth it. Therefore, he accepted the position of Project Manager at BMH in June of 2017.
After that, he and Kelsey welcomed another perfect, fun-loving son into their lives. When Alec isn't on the job site, he spends most of his time as a human jungle gym for his sons. The rare times Alec isn't being body-slammed by his two-year-old or slobbered on by his one-year-old, you can find him feeding his hobbies. They include woodworking, archery, long-range rifles or any other outdoor activity.
Kristina was born and raised in Pittsburgh, a true Yinzer. She graduated from Duquesne University in 2016 with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. After substitute teaching for a few months, she realized her passion wasn’t just in helping children, but rather in helping people in general. After working with college students, young professionals and business executives while planning programs and events for three years at the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber of Commerce, Kristina decided to start a new career path. She joined the BMH team in May of 2019 as their Office Administrator, excited to learn about custom home building while helping the Operations team.
Kristina loves spending her free time with her fiancé, Brian, and their little Bichon Frise, Ellie. She also tags herself as a foodie, as she loves trying out new restaurants in the area. Kristina is an avid sports fan, enjoys going to the gym and loves living in the City of Champions.

Cody Hannum graduated from Westminster College in 2009 with a degree in Business Administration. During that time, he met and married his college sweetheart, Jenna. Upon graduation, Cody worked in real estate sales and property development before joining BMH as an independent contractor, specializing in post-construction cleaning and punch list work. It was around this time that Cody and Jenna decided to settle in Chippewa Township and start a family.
Now a father of four young girls, Cody spends most of his free time painting fingernails and perfecting pirouettes between gulps of top-shelf bourbon straight from the bottle. On the rare occasion that he finds his front door through the haze of glitter and hairspray, he heads to the jobsite where he clings to some small semblance of manhood by acting as Project Manager. Cody works primarily in the phase of construction between drywall and closing. He takes great pride and enjoyment in ensuring projects run efficiently and result in defect-free homes for our customers. Lastly, Cody also handles our warranty department, an aspect of his job that daily makes him grateful for the finite nature of life.

Greg joined the Benjamin Marcus Homes team in 2019, but he is no stranger to the construction industry. After earning his Associates Degree in Engineering, Greg began his construction career in 1978. After learning the many facets of new home construction, Greg branched out on his own, building spec homes from 1992-2011.
When Greg’s not managing construction projects for Benjamin Marcus Homes, you can probably find him and his wife attending their three children’s sporting events, whether it be at the soccer or baseball field or the ski slopes in the winter.
Greg and his family live on a small farm in Saxonburg, where they raise several animals.
DAVE "COOP" COOPER
Project Manager - North
Dave was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He worked construction and built homes alongside his dad, Mel, from a young age. An avid outdoorsman, Dave loves hunting and fishing. Therefore, when Dave’s not on the construction site, you can most likely find him hanging out at his hunting camp.
